An Elegant Wedding at the Deering Estate in Miami

Ashley & Luke’s elegant, sunshine-filled celebration at the Deering Estate in Miami, Florida — featured in Wed Society Miami.

Ashley & Luke wanted a wedding that was equal parts elegant and fun, and the Deering Estate was the perfect stage. With its historic buildings, towering banyan trees and sweeping lawn on Biscayne Bay, this iconic Miami venue gave a modern couple the backdrop for a celebration that felt both timeless and full of life.

The day began at the Mayfair Hotel in Coconut Grove, a colorful, tropical hotel with orange walls, teal tile and lush garden courtyards. Ashley wore a stunning A-line gown with subtle floral embroidery and a cathedral-length veil, and shared a first look with her father before heading out for portraits. Luke and his groomsmen got ready with plenty of laughs along the way, including a few in the bathtub.

Ashley & Luke were married at St. Thomas Episcopal Church before heading to the Deering Estate for their reception. Cocktail hour was held in the estate’s gardens overlooking the bay, with warm sunshine filling the lawn, paper parasols, mojitos and a few rounds of cornhole.

The reception decor was breathtaking, in a mix of yellow, green and pale blue. Green floral toile linens, blue glassware, woven chargers and wooden chairs lined long tables set beneath trees strung with lights, a floral seating wall welcomed guests, and a beige and white checkered dance floor invited them to party.

As the sun was setting, Ashley & Luke entered their reception and danced their first dance as husband and wife. The dance floor filled up as the night fell on the estate, and hora loca made it even better, with a drummer and a smoke gun.
