Vizcaya is a little piece of Europe in our beautiful, warm South Florida, and it’s the best of both world in my totally biased opinion. Its romantic, grand and elegant feel makes it perfect for engagement photoshoots, and/or weddings.

I have lived 10 minutes away from Vizcaya for the past three years, and had not set foot there yet. But I finally took the time to visit and I fell in love with the place. It truly took me back to Europe, all the parks, the museums, the beautifully curated gardens, Greek status, and flowers.

Villa Vizcaya, created by James Deering, also the owner of the Deering Estate which is a little South of Miami, is inspired by the Italian Renaissance. Deering made it its winter home, where he entertained his guests, notably during the prohibition. Vizcaya is a fine gem and a treasure of architecture. Every corner is more beautiful than the former: the gardens, the statues, the flowers, the coral stone, the architecture, the abundance of light inside the villa, the pool, everything has been thoughtfully curated.

Nowadays, Vizcaya can be visited, but also serves as a venue for weddings and engagement photoshoots. It is the perfect fit for couples in search of elegance and a romantic, European feel.

Vizcaya does require a photography permit of $250 in addition to a $25 entrance fee per person to photoshoot on the premises.
